Falcon football players earn All-WKC roster spots


    Leading his team to a 10-win season and district championship for the second year in a row, Hopkinsville HS football’s Marc Clark has been named the 2016 All-Western Kentucky Conference Coach of the Year, as voted on by his peers.

    Clark, who just completed his sixth season, is the first local recipient of the award since Christian County’s Steve Lovelace in 2008.

    Hoptown and County both placed 11 players on the All-WKC Team after seasons that saw the Tigers and Colonels both reach the second round of the state playoffs in their respective classes.

    The HHS group was led by junior quarterback and Toyota of Hopkinsville Southern Pennyrile Athlete of the Year Jalen Johnson, as well as teammates Andrew King (junior linebacker), CJ Henagan (senior wide receiver), Kevis Bryant (junior linebacker), Shorty Cager (junior WR), Don Parker (senior defensive back), JaTorion Dillard (sophomore running back), Jaxon Janes (senior linebacker), RJ Wilson (senior defensive lineman), Connor Bohannon (junior offensive lineman) and Ka’Tyvin Anthony (senior DL).County was represented by senior WR Keyron Catlett, junior DB Cory Trice, junior WR Ja’Quon Long, senior DB Kenneth Major, senior WR James Ray, junior QB Kolbe Langhi, junior LB Shamar Foster, junior DL Payton Leneave, senior OL Chris Wilfong, senior OL Ross Whipple and senior DL Kjawuan Major.
    Also represented on the All-WKC Team were junior QB Abdel Howard, senior WR Kevin Moon, junior DE Dayton Keeling, senior OLB Louis Regalado and senior ILB of Fort Campbell, as well as the Trigg County foursome of senior OL D'Avian Phillips, senior DB Luke Carneyhan, senior DE Kyler Bohn, junior RB Tyson Bush, and junior DB KiRome Bingham.
