Students are encouraged to take pride in their dress and conduct. All students are expected to dress neatly. Clothing should be appropriate, comfortable and not embarrassing or distracting to others. Students must observe and maintain healthy personal hygiene. Grooming is discouraged during class time. Students shall be required to dress appropriately in accordance with the following requirements to maintain social standards appropriate to a proper learning atmosphere. By June of 2014, all students will solve mathematical tasks and demonstrate their mathematical thinking and reasoning by using problem-solving strategies as measured by the Problem Solving rubric, Terra Nova 3rd Edition Scholastic Math Inventory.
By June 2014, all students will improve reading comprehension using the strategies matching readers to appropriate text and through use of explicit fluency instruction as measured by age appropriate quarterly assessments including the BAS Reading List (K), the BAS Fluency assessment and rubrics (grades 1–5), the Scholastic Reading Inventory (grades 3-5), and the Terra Nova, 3rd Edition (grades 3-5).
