Roaring Lions Robotics Competition

The Ft. Benning,  E.A.White Elementary School Roaring Lions Robotics team participated in the local Science and Technology First Lego League Robotics competition with great success. The local tournament took place on November 23rd at Columbus State University. 

Out of 28 teams from Columbus and surrounding counties, The Roaring Lion Brainiacs, was chosen as one of the top ten teams to move on to the regional competition on January 11th at Columbus State University. They scored high in all segments of the competition including tenth out of twenty-eighth in the robot missions runs.

The First Lego League competition for 4th-8th grade students incorporates four judging components. The components are not only the Robotics missions' runs and the robot technical design component but also core values and project components. The core values component includes the students being judged on inspiration, teamwork, and gracious professionalism.The project component judges the students on research, innovative solution, and presentation. The E.A. White students scored high in all areas. Most importantly is the learning that has taken place through this entire process.
