Deployment Club kids color Flat Brats and write letters to their deployed parents. The activity was part of Fort Rucker Elementary School's celebration of Month of the Military Child, which is all month long. As a child of a service member, military children have a lot to deal with from frequent moves, ever changing schools, making new friends and family separation through deployments.

Military working canine handlers, along with six military working dogs, visited Fort Rucker Elementary School March 21 to educate the children on how the dogs help police protect the installation and how to properly behave around them.

The Enterprise Encores show choir performed at the Fort Rucker Elementary School Friday during the Shine On rally to fire up children about to take the Terra Nova standardized test. The Enterprise Encores performed their “Shine On” show during the rally to help get the kids fired up about taking their standardized tests that began Monday, according to Vicki Gilmer, FRES principal.
