The GA/AL district congratulates Ms. Edwina Smith on her selection as principal of Dexter Elementary School. She came to the Georgia/Alabama District as an assistant principal at Faith Middle School in 2013.
"I am thrilled to have Ms. Smith as the new principal for Dexter Elementary School. She is a caring and transformational leader," said Dr. Christy Cabezas, Georgia/Alabama District Superintendent. "She has successful administrative experience as an instructional leader and understands the importance of developing relationships with students, parents, educators and command."
I am very proud to be named as the new principal at Stowers Elementary School. I have worked for DoDEA for five years, all of which were spent at Fort Knox. With the reorganization going on there, I was relocated to Fort Benning this summer, and have landed in a wonderful school.
I have a total of 23 years in education, teaching students in grades 6-12 for fourteen years before entering administration. I have taught all four core subject areas, special education, and adult education. All of my work as a building principal has been at the elementary level.
I am married, with two grown children out on their own and a very loyal Dalmatian at home. Read more . . .
