About the Fort Bragg/Cuba Community

The Fort Bragg/Cuba Community is part of the DoDEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District and includes the schools on the military installations of:

Fort Bragg Schools

We are proud of the educational opportunities offered in our community.  Our focus is on improving academic achievement for all students while supporting the mission of our military families.  The military commands, school boards and parents provide wonderful community support to us and we feel fortunate to serve the families of our military sponsors.

We have a total of 8 schools to serve students living on Fort Bragg in grades Pre-K through 8.

Students in grades 9 - 12 and those living off post attend local county schools.

Cuba Schools

W. T. Sampson is the unit school onboard Guantanamo Bay, (GTMO) providing education for students Sure Start through 12th grade.  Students are primarily the children of military and civilian families stationed at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  Although officially designated as a Unit School, W.T. Sampson is actually located in two separate, modern campuses located about 2 miles apart. Currently, there are approximately 110 students (Sure Start through 5th grade) at the elementary campus and 100 students (6th through 12th grade) at the secondary campus. Despite our small size, W. T. Sampson provides all students with the highest quality education and a safe environment. The dedicated and highly qualified faculty remains focused on the mission, vision and philosophy of our school.
