Continuous School Improvement (CSI) is an ongoing process that helps schools focus their efforts in support of their mission and goals. Student performance and school/community data is analyzed and used to develop plans to ensure all students are learning and progressing toward achievement of academic standards.

The Population of students at Irwin is mobile and the faculty realizes that Irwin students must learn to adapt and become independent and increasingly self-reliant. The staff at Irwin Intermediate School recognizes the changing needs of our students and is committed to adapt instruction to meet the needs of our unique population of learners. Our currents school improvement plan focuses on two areas of identified need, they are reading comprehension and math problem solving.

By the end of the school year, all students will improve their reading skills by utilizing vocabulary strategies that focus on context clues and vocabulary development across the curriculum. Progress will be measured through the use of standardized and local assessments.
By the end of the school year, all students will increase proficiency in number sense in operations as measured by system wide and local assessments.
