PEACHTREE CITY, GA — May 4, 2017 — Ten Antilles High School (AHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) performed so well at the FBLA 2016-2017 State Competition that they will move on to compete at the FBLA National Conference in Anaheim, Ca., June 28 through July 5. The FBLA members are led by Mr. Jose´ Cotto, AHS Business Education teacher and FBLA advisor.
Daniel Irizarry, Alejandro Ramírez and Jan Camps earned 1st Place in the Business Plan event. They created a business plan for a home for the elderly. The project was named Boriken Paradise Club, Inc.
Sebastian Bramsen and Irving Arredondo, with a score of 100 percent, took 1st Place in Public Service Announcements. They produced a 30-second video about safety rules needed for operating a drone.
Nixa Santana earned 2nd Place in Public Speaking I. She developed a five-minute speech related to the FBLA Leadership Legacy.
Angélica Chacón took 1st Place in Business Communication. She had the highest score in all theoretical tests offered by FBLA in Puerto Rico.
Arian Rivera and Victor Martínez obtained 1st Place in Entrepreneurship. They passed a theoretical test and performance-based assessment in front of a panel of judges.
Isabella Calzadillas, with a score of 100 percent, earned 1st Place in Client Service. She role played, while solving customer service issues and several complex problems.
Antilles High School is located on Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, in the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Americas Mid-Atlantic District.
