Selomi Dayaprema is the winner of the 32nd European PTA Spelling Bee at Ramstein Elementary School, on March 15, 2014. She won by spelling “contented” correctly.
Selomi is heading to Washington, D.C. area to compete in the National Spelling Bee Competition on May 28-29th let's wish her the best of luck!
Some of Selomi’s hobbies include swimming, reading and working with computer graphics. Her keenest interest, however, is the history of World War II. She looks up to historic icon Anne Frank, who was an inspirational writer and remained optimistic despite her dire circumstances. To learn more about this tragic period in history, Selomi is most looking forward to visiting the Holocaust Memorial Museum during her stay in Washington, D.C. She enjoys information technology and hopes to use it to start a career as a Foreign Service Officer when she grows up. Selomi's older brother Anuk competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in 2011, 2012 and 2013, tying for 12th place in 2013.
