The Japan District Superintendent’s Office is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Jacqueline M. Ferguson as the new Principal of Ikego Elementary School in Yokosuka, Japan.
Dr. Ferguson’s educational background consists of a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master’s in Educational Administration and a Doctorate in Curriculum, Supervision and Instruction with an emphasis in Elementary Education and a specialization in Reading. Prior to returning to DoDEA, Dr. Ferguson served as an Assistant Professor for Texas A&M University, San Antonio in the Department of Education. Her teaching experience includes: Wetzel Elementary, Yokosuka Middle School, and various elementary schools in Texas. She has served the last two years as an assistant principal at The Sullivans School in Yokosuka, Japan.
Dr. Ferguson strives to improve educational opportunities for military-connected children through reflective practices. Her current research projects include: Collaborative Teaching and Critical Thinking. Dr. Ferguson is pleased to serve the Ikego community with her husband David, retired Air Force, and sons, Josiah and Levi.
