We are very proud of the educational environment that prevails throughout Ramstein Middle--one that is safe, orderly and clean. We strive to instill in our students a sense of pride, responsibility and respect for the rights and dignity of others as well as for their own individual self-esteem.

Josh Adams, Principal
Josh Adams is the principal of Ramstein Middle School onRamstein Air Force Base, Germany.
Mr. Adams was raised primarily in Central Oregon, although he was born on Ft. Lewis, Washington. He graduated with Honors from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. In addition to his bachelor’sdegree, Mr. Adams also has a law degree from the University of Oregon, School of Law. Mr. Adams also holds multiple certifications in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon, College of Education.
Mr. Adams worked in Idaho at the high school and middle school level with students that were adjudicated and in need of counseling and support in school. He worked in Eugene, Oregon for Lane Education Service District as a Middle School Coordinator, providing a multitude of services to three rural middle schools. Mr. Adams first administrative position was as an assistant principal at Jefferson County Middle School (JCMS) in Madras, Oregon. JCMS served approximately 1000 students, 70% of whom were Native American andHispanic students. Mr. Adams was promoted to principal of Metolius Elementary, where he served as principal for five years. This school also had a very diverse student population. The school enjoyed great success during his tenure as principal, including a rare “exceptional” rating from the State of Oregon.Mr. Adams then served as principal at Buff Intermediate School and as Co-Human Resources Director for Jefferson County School District. After eight years as an administrator in Madras, Oregon, Mr. Adams took his first job in DoDDS as an assistant principal for one year at Ramstein Middle School (RMS). He then moved to Landstuhl Elementary Middle School, where he served as principal for four years. In 2015, Mr. Adams returned to Ramstein Middle School to serve as principal.
Mr. Adams has made presentations and provided support and training on a variety of topics over the years as an administrator. In particular, he has provided training and expertise in the areas of Positive Behavior Supports, Data Teams, Classroom Walkthroughs and Diversity.
Mr. Adams and his wife Shirlene have five children. They love to travel, play outdoors and work together. Mr. Adams is an avid cyclist, reader and loves to cook. He is passionate about kids and loves to work with them every day.
