Sigonella ES

All students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities whether they be athletic, academic or social in nature. These activities help to shape students and prepare them for the future as part of a well rounded education. We have divided these activities for students into two categories, Athletics and Clubs.

School clubs are a great way to develop new interests and to make new friends. Students can select these activities based on their interests. Several teachers are the sponsors and coordinate the programs with parents, students, and community volunteers. We provide the following clubs:


  


Art Club
Eligibility: K-2nd Graders
Description: Provides creative outlets for students
Meeting Time: Wednesdays 2:30 p.m .- 4:00 p.m.
 

Coding Club
Eligibility: 3-5 Graders
Description: We will learn more about writing computer programs using Scratch, a programming language developed by MIT.Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art. As young people create and share Scratch projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.                                                       Meeting Time: Wednesdays-Advanced group, Thurdays-Beginner group, 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
 

Gardening Club
Eligibility: K-2nd Graders
Description: Learn about plants, planting, and ecology.
Meeting Time: Wednesdays, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
 

Spanish Club

Eligibility: 3-5th Graders
Description: Learn Spanish language, vocabulary, and traditions and culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
Meeting Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Cooking Club

Eligibility: 4-5th Graders
Description:  Learn to cook easy, traditional Italian foods.
Meeting Time:  Mondays from 2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
