Francis

Vicenza High School

Mediterranean District

Name: Ann Francis

What do you plan on doing after graduation?
I will be attending the University of South Florida, majoring in Business.

What are some of your favorite school memories that you will take with you as you move on to the next chapter of your life?
One memory that I will carry with me for the rest of my life is winning the Division II girls basketball championship title with my team my sophomore year. Hearing Queen’s “We Are the Champions” and holding that trophy after all the hard work we put into the season is a memory I will never forget. Another favorite memory of high school was going on a spring break trip to Malta my senior year with my friends.

What will you miss most as you look back on your DoDDS-Europe overseas school experience?
The one aspect that I will miss the most about attending a DoDDS-Europe overseas school is the amazing opportunities I have had to travel across Europe and other parts of the world. What other teenagers have the opportunity to say that they traveled across Italy and Germany to compete for sports and other schooling events? I’ve had the chance to travel to practically every country in Western Europe and to the Middle East. It’s been an incredible and life changing experience being able to live and travel overseas.

What advice would you give to the current underclassmen?
Appreciate your time in high school especially if you live overseas because you may never have the chance to live overseas again. You’re being given an opportunity of a lifetime, so take advantage of it. Also, always work your hardest because it will pay off eventually.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I see myself being a successful business woman. I don’t know exactly where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing, but I do know I will be well-traveled and established in whatever business I decide to commit to.
