Ramstein High School
Name: Sally Ruwerungun
What do you plan on doing after graduation?
I will be attending the College of Micronesia for a degree in Public Services.
What are some of your favorite school memories that you will take with you as you move on to the next chapter of your life?
I moved to the United States from Micronesia when I was 14 and attended David Douglas High School in Oregon and then E.E. Smith High School in North Carolina before moving to Ramstein, Germany. My favorite memories include learning the English and German languages and cultures and the ROTC program. ROTC and Summer Leadership School have taught me leadership, teamwork, and discipline. I hope to use these qualities as I pursue my studies and my dream of being in the US Air Force.
What will you miss most as you look back on your DoDDS-Europe overseas school experience?
I will miss my great friends and teachers and my amazing guidance counselor and I will also miss the opportunity to travel around Europe. Ramstein High School is a wonderful place where I have felt welcomed, safe, and fortunate.
What advice would you give to the current underclassmen?
To always keep a positive attitude, try new things that can benefit you in life, never give up on hope and faith, and follow your heart.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I hope to be working for the United States Air Force either in a public service (counseling) field or a fine arts (photography) field.
