Irwin Intermediate School

Irwin Intermediate School is located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina under the direction of Mrs. Miriam Breece, Principal.

Irwin Intermediate is one of nine schools in the Fort Bragg Community and teaches students in 2nd through 5th grades. Fort Bragg is part of the DoDEA Americas Mid-Atlantic District and is under the direction of Dr. Emily Marsh, Superintendent, and Dr. Renee' Butler, Community Superintendent.  Irwin Intermediate follows the directives, curricula, and guidelines from the umbrella organization of DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity).

Irwin Intermediate is a neighborhood school and most students walk.

Lt. General Stafford LeRoy Irwin

 

Our school is named in honor of Lt. General Stafford LeRoy Irwin. He served as Commander of V Corps and Post Commander of Ft. Bragg.  He attended West Point and the Army War College.

Goal 1

By the end of the school year, all students will improve their reading skills by utilizing vocabulary strategies that focus on context clues and vocabulary development across the curriculum.  Progress will be measured through the use of standardized and local assessments.

Goal 2

By the end of the school year, all students will increase proficiency in number sense in operations as measured by system wide and local assessments.
