Get Involved

The most significant predictor of a student’s achievement in school and preparation for a life of success and happiness is parental involvement. Parents who are actively engaged in the educational process are partners with teachers in ensuring that their child is receiving a good education.  We want and need parent participation to help ensure that we are meeting our student needs and ensuring we strive for our goal of highest student achievement.

Some ways to get involved include, but are not limited to:

  • Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) - , see the Mendel ES Calendar for meeting dates/times.
  • School Advisory Committee (SAC) - , composed of staff, administration, and parents, open attendance to all community members; see the Mendel ES Calendar for meeting dates/times.
  • School Leadership Team - Meets the first Tuesday of each month @ 2:30 PM in the Mendel ES Training Room.  composed of team leaders from each grade-level/specialists team and administration.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate.
  • Technology Committee - composed of staff and parents; meets quarterly, see the Mendel ES Calendar for meeting dates/times.
  • Volunteer Field Trip Chaperone  - Study Trips take place frequently, classroom teachers will send home requests for chaperones with permission slips for these trips.  Chaperones will need to have a background check completed and on-file with the front office.
