It is with great pleasure that the Netzaberg Elementary staff welcomes you to a new school year; we are excited about SY 15-16 and are looking forward to another outstanding year! We are very proud of our school and the achievements of our students. We have knowledgeable educators, wonderful students, and tremendous community support. We take pride in our tradition of educational excellence at Netzaberg Elementary.
I became an Administrator because I am a parent myself, and I want to make a positive impact in the lives of the students. I strive to make sure that each student's needs are being met and that they are reaching their greatest potential. In order to be optimally effective at the school level, open lines of communication and collaboration must take place continuously. I urge you to come to speak with me regarding any concerns, comments, or even suggestions you may have so that we are growing and improving consistently. I value your input and look forward to working with you throughout the year.
There are always partnership opportunities for Booster members, SAC members, and of course at our CSI (Continuing School Improvement) faculty meetings for your suggestions/feedback. Not to mention the amazing volunteer opportunities!
Netzaberg students experience success in part because of this unified cooperation and support between the staff, parents, and the military community all working toward a common goal - the education of your child. We invite you to work closely with us in providing your child with the best education possible. We sincerely look forward to working with you during the upcoming school year.
Only together can we construct an education for your children in which we all can take pride.
Netzaberg Elementary Principal
Welcome to Netzaberg Elementary School.
I believe high student achievement and positive student interactions are created by caring educational leaders that promote engaging, respectful tasks. Establishing an atmosphere where students feel safe and valued helps to promote positive self-concepts where students are able to reach their potential.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida, a Masters degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Technology from Nova Southeastern University. I taught Language Arts and Reading in the states for years before deciding to combine my love of travel and foreign culture with teaching and joined DoDEA. During my tenure as a teacher in Stuttgart, Germany I taught Special Education, Read 180, and was the Literacy Specialist for a K-8 School. In 2010 I transferred to Okinawa, Japan where I taught 6th Grade Social Studies and 6th Grade Reading at Ryukyu Middle School. I then began my career in Administration at Bechtel Elementary in 2011 as the Assistant Principal. I was later promoted to the Principal at Bob Hope Primary School on Okinawa. In 2015, I was fortunate to join the fabulous staff and students at Netzaberg.
I have an open-door policy and welcome conversations regarding and concerns, comments, or suggestions regarding our school.
My immediate family consists of an amazing husband and three wonderful children. I speak German, and love studying different cultures and traditions. As much as I love to travel, I typically do not eat unusual ethnic foods however and often sway towards vegetarian dishes. In fact, I was a strict vegetarian for three years! Fun fact: I love pets of all kinds- except for spiders. Those I could live without entirely.
