Emergency Procedures

Each school has emergency action plans developed in conjunction with the appropriate installation plans.  These plans are exercised throughout the year both within the school, and as part of the installation’s exercise plans.

During the 11 March 2011 Earthquake/Tsunami and nuclear reactor incident the following district positions were deemed mission essential for DoDDS Japan:
  • Superintendent & Assistant Superintendent
  • Budget Officer
  • Logistics Supervisor
  • Transportation Supervisor
  • Security Officer
  • Education Operations Manager

Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO)

All eligible DoDDS military and civilian students and their families are required by USFJ to be registered by their sponsor into NEO in case they need to be evacuated due to a natural disaster or other catastrophe. Please work with your military sponsor's unit to ensure your NEO packet is complete and up to date at all times.
