Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to Daegu High School! We have great plans for school year 2015-16!
We are focused on College and Career Readiness, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math and providing a world-class education. We are continually reviewing our data and our staff is engaged in continuous staff development that will position us to deliver the highest quality instruction to all of our students. This year, we will continue improving our critical analysis and reasoning skills and writing skills while working on our next steps resulting from our positive AdvancEd Accreditation Visit last year. We fully understand the benefits when students can read, write, and comprehend, think critically, collaborate, and create. These skills, part of 21st Century skills, focus on the needed critical competencies for College and Career success now and in the next century. We are poised to continue a culture where academic success is the focus, and achievement is the result in a safe, caring environment.
While we are a small school we are proud to offer a full complement of course offerings including: all core subjects, special education, foreign language, honors and advanced placement courses, virtual school, fine and performing arts, journalism, yearbook, career tech, gaming and other technology courses, and Army JROTC.
We are excited to get to know all our students and their families. We believe in building relationships. Please consider getting involved in our school. We have several ways that you can get involved. You can volunteer or join one of our parent groups aimed at School Improvement such as our Parent Teacher Student Organization or our School Advisory Council. We have several ways to communicate with our community including phone contact, school website, Facebook, email or Gradespeed. We have something for everyone here at DHS and always want you to feel welcome. We want your time at DHS to be the very best. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to enhance your son or daughter’s educational experience.
