In keeping with the DoDEA mission to provide an exemplary education that inspires and prepares all our students for success in a dynamic, global environment, the DoDEA Curriculum Content Standards and the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) provide the framework for academic excellence. Our curriculum translates the standards in to a sequenced series of statements about what students will learn through their school experiences.
BTES Curriculum ProgramsCurriculum programs are programs that are part of the curriculum, playing an essential role to support and improve the excellence of the core curriculum of DoDEA.
The following programs are provided for students who qualify:
ESL (English Second Language)
FLESDoDEA supports Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools (FLES) at Bechtel Elementary. Bechtel’s FLES program introduces Spanish to Kindergarten-3rd grade students. DoDEA hopes to build capacity in Foreign Languages by starting language learning at the earliest age possible. DoDEA hopes to increase the level of language proficiency and number of students participating in all foreign languages.
Language Support Specialist (LSS)The LSS personnel assist teachers in improving classroom reading programs. Pupils with reading deficiencies are helped through individualized programs.
