Welcome to the Okinawa district schools. The district is comprised of thirteen schools offering outstanding educational opportunities for the children of the U.S. military families we are privileged to serve.
Our schools follow DoDEA’s system-wide curriculum that is built on a model of rigor and continuous improvement. The teaching staff is well-qualified and committed to meeting the needs of each student. There is a full range of professional services available as part of a comprehensive system that offers remedial through enrichment opportunities for each student.
Our staff members are aware of the sacrifices made by the American military family and we strive to ensure educational opportunities that are aligned with and comparable with those of the highest performing districts in the U.S.A. My personal request to our staff members is that each day they leave the school having taught the lesson they would want to have been taught to their own child.
Please feel that you are welcome in any of our schools. In fact, you are encouraged to take an active part in the education of your children with involvement in the school through activities and organizations that support the school. A team that consists of the student, the parent and the school creates the strongest learning opportunities we have.
My pledge to you is one of accessibility and availability when you have concerns with the schools so we can work together to continue the strong traditions of the Okinawa district. My goal for the Okinawa district schools for School Year 2012/2013 is to have "World Class Instruction in Every Classroom for Every Student Every Day."
