At the Modeled & Independent Reading Station, students make book selections on their lexile level from multiple paperbacks and audiobooks, they are always engaged and on task.
At the beginning of the school year, students spent a couple weeks doing surveys and questionnaires with one another, which enabled them to know more about one another in their community of learners.
To ensure that station procedures were understood, students spent a lot of time at the beginning of the year practicing tasks and stations as a whole group. The students do an excellent job staying focused, engaged, and on task when reading.
