Puerto Rico, Strong and Resilient
Following Hurricane Maria, in Puerto Rico, most schools are still operating under difficult conditions but have begun to rebuild with promise. Administrators, teachers, and students at Fort Buchanan and Ramey School shared their accounts of the recovery effort and the progress being made towards normal operations with the DoDEA Director. As teaching and learning at Fort Buchanan and Ramey resume the DoDEA community in Puerto Rico has demonstrated a resilient spirit in the wake of the storm.

DoDEA Green Ribbon Schools
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) honors schools each year for their sustainable facilities, health practices, and effective environmental education. The U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools Award (ED-GRS) has had a significant effect on the green schools movement and allowed ED an unprecedented platform to address school facilities, health, and environment.
