Dear Charles Cotesworth Pinckney (CC Pinckney) Elementary Stakeholders,
It is an honor to be the principal of CC Pinckney Elementary School and I look forward to continuing the proud tradition of excellence established here, highlighted by staff and students who strive for excellence consistently. I am looking forward to a terrific SY 2017-2018! I have worked for DoDEA since August of 2014 as the Principal of Brittin Elementary School on Fort Stewart and I PCS'd to Fort Jackson on April 27, 2017.
I am delighted that here at CC Pinckney, we have a certified, experienced and highly motivated faculty and staff and although we will be focused on excellence in every subject area, our school wide goal will continue to focus on writing. However, we will continue to diligently work on the AdvancED Standards by which we are held accountable:
″Maintaining and communicating a purpose and direction that commit to high expectations;
″Governance and leadership that promotes and supports student performance and school effectiveness;
″Teaching and assessing for learning;
″Providing resources and support systems to ensure success for all students and;
″Using results to guide continuous improvement.
In addition, we will be working to use a dynamic approach to teaching known as Problem Based Learning (PBL) so students will have opportunities to explore real-world problems and challenges, simultaneously developing cross-curriculum skills while working in small collaborative groups. We will also continue implementing College and Career Readiness Standards in Math (Grades 5-8), Literacy (Grades 6-8), and now Science (Grades PreK-5).
I believe strongly in a positive school climate, building leadership capacity among all stakeholders and developing vibrant partnerships throughout the community in order to deliver a world class education to all students. Again, I am honored to be the Principal of CC Pinckney.
I am looking forward to a great school year. Go Patriots!
Dr. Theresa Harvey
