Puerto Rico, Strong and Resilient
Following Hurricane Maria, in Puerto Rico, most schools are still operating under difficult conditions but have begun to rebuild with promise. Administrators, teachers, and students at Fort Buchanan and Ramey School shared their accounts of the recovery effort and the progress being made towards normal operations with the DoDEA Director. As teaching and learning at Fort Buchanan and Ramey resume the DoDEA community in Puerto Rico has demonstrated a resilient spirit in the wake of the storm.

It is getting colder outside!  Please remember to dress your children for the weather.  Playing outside is a much needed break for the students during the school day.  Unless it is raining or very cold we try to get them out, please make sure they have warm outerwear.

School Hours

Monday,Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday Hours:

  • Kindergarten - 5th Grade: 8:50 am - 3:25 pm
  • AM Pre-K: 8:50 - 11:30 am
  • PM Pre-K: 1:00 - 3:25pm

Tuesday Hours

  • Kindergarten - 5th Grade: 8:50 am - 2:15 pm
  • AM Pre-K: 8:50 - 10:45 am
  • PM Pre-K: 12:30 - 2:15 pm

Breakfast is served 8:20 - 8:50 am. Students must be in line no later than 8:45.

Students should not arrive prior to 8:40 unless they are eating breakfast.
