Purpose of PTO: The purpose of the Zama American School PTO is to provide support to scholastic and extracurricular programs of Zama American Middle-High School. Support may include, but is not limited to personnel, material, and financial assistance.
How to Join: Any parent, faculty/staff or interested community member may join the PTO for just $10 per family per school year. Joining the PTO does not require a time commitment. The membership money is used to support teachers, students, and organizations in the high school. Your membership dues are used to help create a successful climate within the school and also represent your commitment to and support for the success of the current and future ZMHS school community. All paid members do receive the benefit of being able to vote at general membership meetings. Simply mail in the membership form or drop it off at the main office with your dues.
Volunteer: You do not need to be a member of the PTO to volunteer at the Treasure Trove, the ZMHS PTO's permanent fundraiser. Becoming an active member of the PTO is the best way to ensure you hear about volunteer opportunities that create a climate for success at ZMHS. Treasure Trove Facebook page for the most current volunteer and/or donation opportunities.
Contact: The Zama American School PTO hosts a Facebook Page here. Look for us on Facebook for the latest information about upcoming PTO and school events, volunteer opportunities, and meeting information. Checking the ZMHS School Website and the ZMHS PTO Facebook site are some of the best ways you can stay informed. You can also contact the PTO at ZamaPTO@gmail.com.
All ZMHS teachers and organizations requesting funds should contact us at the above e-mail address. Please plan to attend the next general meeting to present your request and be prepared to answer any questions that may arise. All teachers and organizations desiring to hold a fundraising activity after school hours and on or off campus must contact the PTO Teacher Liaisons.
Meetings are alternated every other month between Camp Zama (ZMHS school cafeteria) and NAF Atsugi ("Little Theater" next to Shirley Lanham Elementary School).
The Zama American Middle-High School PTO Board operates a thrift store on Camp Zama that has funded countless educational projects and equipment. Please come out and support the store! All proceeds go back into supporting the ZMHS PTO and high school programs.
