Dr. Aldridge Argus Boone became the NC: Camp Lejeune District Superintendent February 15, 2013.He came to DoDEA from the Rappahannock County Public Schools, in Washington, VA, where he served as Division Superintendent of a Pre-K through 12 school division since June 2010. Prior to being selected for that position, he served two years as the Division Superintendent in Appomattox County, Va. He began his education career in 1997 as a middle school teacher in Hampton, Va., and has previously served as an assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent of instruction.
A native of North Carolina, Dr. Boone earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University, Saint Leo, FL. In 1997, he earned his Master's Degree in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard University, Boston, MA. He earned a second Master's Degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in School Administration and Supervision. In 2003, he earned his Doctorate in Education Administration and Policy Studies from George Washington University.
Dr. Boone, a U.S. Air Force veteran, served during the Vietnam Era and also served in support of Operation Desert Storm. He retired as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer (E-7) after 22 years of active duty service. He has one daughter, Taryn Boone, who resides in Hampton, VA.
