Hello,
I'm Elaine Hinman, director of DDESS and Cuba. It's
my pleasure to welcome each of you to the beginning of a
new school year. To all the staff, parents, and students
who are new to the DDESS schools - welcome. You're
joining a learning community committed to high standards
and excellence.
This year the DoDEA theme is DoDEA Reads. As I visit your
schools and communities, I'm confident that I'll see and
hear about the dynamic work you're doing to ensure that
"every child is a reader and every child is a writer."
In DDESS we're committed to "leaving no child behind"
on this literacy journey - reading is their passport
to the future and the key to success in the classroom and
beyond the schoolhouse walls.
This is going to be a dynamic, exciting year for all of
us in DDESS schools. I look forward to working together
with you to accomplish great things for all the students
we serve.
