Like ducks take to water, so young minds take to the wonders of technology. And technology is readily available in Italy District elementary school laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated professional teachers are making tremendous strides in the use of technology in meaningful classroom activities. All elementary schools have a strong intructional program in computer basics in which all students participate. Students have used computers to track hurricanes (right) and to compose newspaper articles on recent field trips (below, right). From the earliest grades, cooperative use and proper techniques are encouraged.
