ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA — The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History announced a national program called "Preserve America History Teacher of the Year" to honor outstanding teachers of American history across the country. Finalists from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Department of Defense, and US Territories will compete for the national honor of "National Preserve America History Teacher of the Year." Ms. Deborah Bridges, US History teacher from Mahaffey Middle School, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, was selected as the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) finalist to compete for the National award.
