innovative uses of technology
High-tech tools paired with new approaches

DoD schools are committed to using technology in the support of traditional classroom instruction, from creative writing to the beauty and mysteries of science.

One example of the partnership between technology and traditional academic subjects can be found at Stowers Elementary School at Fort Benning, Georgia. In one approach, the teacher introduces a sentence with no adjectives and asks students to create more descriptive sentences in order to convey a particular mood. After students have entered their own sentences, the teacher presents individual responses on a large computer monitor to teach the lesson.
