The Leaders

The AFRTS News Center presents "The Leaders".

Elizabeth Middlemiss is a Defense Department leader on education for children in military families. She says several new initiatives for the upcoming year from new instructional material to new testing programs will make Department of Defense schools better than ever.

Dr. Elizabeth Middlemiss: DoDEA has always had wonderful schools. And the things that make DoDEA schools wonderful are our parents, our educators, and most of all, our students. With all the initiatives that we put in place on a yearly basis and with the things that are coming in place this year, the bottom line is what's happening in the classroom. So, more than anything else, it's important for parents if they have questions, ideas, suggestions, to communicate all of that with their teachers and with the administrators within the school districts. That's the place where education truly takes place.
