Web Resources
  • Eisenhower National Clearinghouse - ENC's mission is to identify effective curriculum resources, create high-quality professional development materials, and disseminate useful information and products to improve K-12 mathematics and science teaching and learning.
  • National Institutes of Health: Office of Science Education - resources related to drug education.
  • NASA is taking bold steps at the K-12 grade levels to prepare the next generation of explorers. Building on previous accomplishments, NASA has established a series of innovative programs designed to stimulate student interest in order to motivate higher levels of study in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, subjects. These activities provide unique learning experiences for students, teachers, administrators and families.
    • The NASA Space Science Education Resources - The Space Science Resource Directory is a convenient way to find NASA space science products for use in classrooms, science museums, planetariums, and other settings.
  • NOAA's many educational activities are distributed across the agency. This site has been designed to help students, teachers, librarians and the general public access the many educational activities, publications, and booklets that have been produced.
  • WISE is a simple yet powerful learning environment where students examine real world evidence and analyze current scientific controversies. Our curriculum projects are designed to meet standards and complement your current science curriculum, and your grade 5-12 students will find them exciting and engaging. A web browser is all they need to take notes, discuss theories, and organize their arguments... they can even work from home! Our Teacher Area lets you explore new projects and grade your students' work on the Web. Best of all, everything in WISE is completely free.
Professional Organizations
  • The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) is committed to the improvement of science education at all levels -- preschool through college. To address subjects of critical interest to science educators, the Association publishes five journals, a newspaper, and a number of special publications. NSTA provides many programs and services for science educators, including awards and scholarships, teacher training workshops, educational tours, and an employment registry. NSTA offers professional certification for science teachers in eight teaching level and discipline area categories.
