Statements
Biology End-of-Course Assessment
The items for a Biology End-of-Course Assessment for students enrolled in high school Biology and AP Biology were field-tested in spring 2005. The pilot test will be conducted in spring 2006. The test will be operational for all students in spring 2007.
Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA)
It is the policy of DoDEA that effective School Year 2004-2005, the DRA will be used as the second measure of reading proficiency for all grade 3 students. The individual student scores are to be entered into SMS not later than June 15 each year.
The DRA provides a method for assessing and documenting primary students development as readers over time within a literature-based instructional reading program. Assessments are conducted during one-on-one reading conferences as children read specially selected assessment texts.
Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI)
The SRI is the second measure of reading proficiency for all grade 6 students in DoDEA for spring 2005.
The SRI is a computer-adaptive assessment instrument for grades 1-12 that allows educators to assess reading comprehension. The SRI test self-adjusts in response to the students reading ability. Adaptive testing shortens test-taking time and increases testing accurary.
