Research & Evaluation Branch

The primary mission of the Research and Evaluation Branch is to provide reliable and timely information to enable DoDEA to make strategic decisions promoting the benefit of all students. The Research and Evaluation Branch serves three major functions to assist DoDEA in meeting its objectives.
  • Collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. The Branch conducts research for the system, analyzes and reports on student performance on tests such as the TerraNova and Advanced Placement (AP) as related to academic performance, demographics, and participation in selected school classes and programs. The Branch is also responsible for developing and administering internal and external surveys of employees, parents, and students.
  • Preparation of internal and external reports. The Branch is responsible for annual reports such as the Postsecondary Plans and Graduation Report, surveys such as the biennial Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • Management of the research program. The Branch is responsible for the coordination of all requests to DoDEA for research.

  • This link goes to a page not maintained by DoDEAThe Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) is a nonpartisan, nationwide, nonprofit organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions. CCSSO provides leadership, advocacy, and technical assistance on major educational issues. The Council seeks member consensus on major educational issues and expresses their views to civic and professional organizations, federal agencies, Congress, and the public.
