Are you familiar with the NEA's "Poets Out Loud" recitation contest being run in the high schools last year and this year?   It's a National Competition with a $20,000 scholarship first prize...$10,000 second prize and $100,000 in prizes all together. Students choose, memorize and rehearse a favorite poem and then perform it.  Local winners go on to the state level and state winners to the national competition.  The students and parents love it!  Here's the link with info and videos of last year's winning performances.
