How to play a game
Did you know that many children don’t know how to play games such as: Go Fish, Jump Rope, Duck Duck Goose, Hide and Seek, Mother May I, Simon Says, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Hangman? Since you are an expert on a game, your expertise is needed to write directions for children in other countries or that are living in our country. We may even post these directions on our school web page (or create a class web page) so that it will easy for others to find them and learn these games.
Pick a game that you know how to play and write directions on how to play that game. There are certain things that you need to remember such as: steps that you take in order to play the game; how many people can play the game; and what kind of things are needed to play the game. Read them to a buddy and see if they can follow them. If your buddy doesn’t understand what to do, have them help you think of something to add to make the directions easier to follow.
Next, go back and add some pictures that go with the
directions. You can do this with crayons and markers and scan your pages into
the computer or use the computer and type in your directions and insert some
pictures from Clip Art.
