Throughout history, people have left behind pieces of their civilization
that tell us about their way of life.
You and your classmates have decided to prepare a time capsule that will
be opened by students who attend your school fifty years from now. The time capsule should contain information
about the activities, events, trends and objects currently popular.
Your job is to write to the students who will open the capsule in fifty
years. Since the times will inevitably
change, you have to specifically describe the objects in the time capsule so
that the students in the future have a clear picture of what your life is like
at this time.
You’ll complete the writing over a three-day period. You can brainstorm ideas with your classmates
on day one by jotting down notes, creating lists, drawing a mind map, or using
another graphic organizer to help you generate and organize your thoughts. You’ll write a draft on your own the second
day, and will complete a final copy on day three. Your final copy should be well organized and
free of spelling and grammatical errors.
Note:
For submission to DoDEA for written commentary on student work, submit
the draft and final copy.
