E4a - The student independently demonstrates an understanding of the rules of the English language in written and oral work, and selects the structures and features of language appropriate to the purpose, audience, and context of the work.  The student demonstrates control of:

Performance Task:

 

 

Contracts are legally enforceable agreements between two or more parties.  Each of the parties named in the contract agrees to provide services, privileges, and/or pay fees to meet the conditions stated in the contract.  Common examples of contracts include rental agreements, bank loans, and marriage documentation. 

 

1.  Use your family and community resources to collect examples of contracts. 

 

2.  Compare and contrast the conditions of several different contracts.  Within a small group structure, discuss the differences and similarities of the various contracts.  Identify the conditions of the contracts to include services, agreement, resulting goal of the contract, etc. 

 

3.  Using this information each of you will create and develop a contract that includes:

·             simple, clear, and precise language

·             organizing structure that conveys information and ideas of the contract accurately

·             specific details of each condition and what must be done and what will be earned if the contract is fulfilled, and

·             professional format, i.e., heading, text, graphics, etc.
