The student demonstrates control of:

Performance Task:

 

 

Your school is compiling a memory book of student writings depicting events of the school year.  Copies of the book will be placed in the school library and will be available to purchase at Open House.  Each student will submit a detailed description (two pages) of a memorable school event.

 

To be successful at this task you will need to:

 

1.      Select an event that stands out clearly in your mind and write about it for the school year book.  You will use vivid details (show, not tell language) so that your readers will know what happened that day to make it memorable. 

2.      From your perspective, describe the events giving relavant anecdotes to heighten reader interest.   

3.      Work in triads so the opportunity for feedback from at least two peers is available. 

4.      Review and exchange feedback.  As a result, edit your writing. 

5.       Read your final product to your triad before submitting it to the memory book committee.
