The Most Important Message
In small groups of four or five students, the
teacher and /or instructional assistant will choral read an easy read book,
such as “Crocodile Beat.” (any
emergent reader for which there are multiple copies could be substituted) The
teacher will lead the students in a discussion about the book with a focus on relating
the meaning of the book to the personal experiences of the students.
The students will draw a picture and write
about how the message of the book relates to their personal experiences.
