Read Across DoDEA Day
ALEXANDRIA, VA — February 21, 2014 — In conjunction with the National Education Association’s Read Across America, all Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools will celebrate Read Across DoDEA Day, on March 3, to emphasize a global commitment to literacy for all grades.
Read Across DoDEA Day highlights reading and DoDEA encourages parents and community members to make an appointment to read to a class or to share in a reading activity on this day.
Every year, parents, teachers, school employees, students and community members participate in the nation's largest reading celebration by engaging in a wide range of local activities that help excite and encourage children of all ages to pick up a book and read. DoDEA schools will have their celebration and military communities in many locations around the globe will be joining the celebration.
