STEP 1: Registering to Do Business with the Federal Government
There are three basic steps that a contractor must take if they wish to sell their products or services to DoDEA.
First, the contractor needs to be a registered contractor in the U.S. Federal Government's Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
Central Contractor Registration Website
Please note that to register your business with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) you will need a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS®) number, provided by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). If your business does not currently have a DUNS® number please call the government dedicated, DUNS number self-request line at 866-705-5711. The process to request a free DUNS® number takes about 5-10 minutes. You will need to provide the following data elements to obtain a DUNS® Number.
- Legal Name
- Trade style, doing business as (dba), or other name in which your
entity is commonly recognized
- Physical Address, City, State and Zip Code
- Mailing Address (if separate)
- Telephone Number
- Contact Name
- NAICS (formerly SIC) Code (for assistance with NAICS codes, see below)
- Number of Employees at your location
- Headquarters name and address (Reporting relationship within your entity)
Note to DUNS® registrants: As a result of obtaining a DUNS® number, D&B may include your basic information (i.e. company name, address) in some of their products, such as mailing lists. If at anytime you do not wish to be included in these D&B products or have questions please contact them at 1-866-705-5711.
During the DUNS® and CCR registration processes, you will be asked for NAICS codes, CAGE codes, and EIN. If you need assistance in finding any of them, use the resources below.
