National Teacher Appreciation Week Scheduled From May 6-12

ARLINGTON, VA - DoDEA students and parents will join schools across the nation in honoring their teachers during National Teacher Appreciation Week, from May 6-12. National Teacher Appreciation Week is designed to honor the nation's dedicated teachers and educators and to show them our appreciation. Everyday, teachers touch the lives of students, parents and communities in significant ways.

This year's observance encourages all citizens to show their appreciation to teachers and offers the opportunity for everyone to reaffirm their commitment to parent-teacher partnerships. The Department of Defense (DoD) Schools will honor the more than 9,000 teachers serving military students and families worldwide.

Activities and events are planned at many DoD schools to honor teachers and celebrate their contributions. Interested media are encouraged to contact school principals for details on school celebrations.
