Abby Month of the Military Child The Artist Spotlight Favorite 2017
The DoDEA Artist Spotlight is a monthly artwork challenge open to current DoDEA students and is held on the DoDEA Facebook fan page. Students are encouraged to submit a work of art, including photographs, digital artwork, 2D artwork, or 3D artwork that relates to the monthly theme. The artwork will be displayed in a Facebook album and Facebook members will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite image by selecting the Facebook "Like" button. The image with the most Facebook likes is announced as the favorite at the end of the challenge and showcased on both the DoDEA website and the DoDEA Facebook fan page.
Please view the Official Rules. Keep in mind that no more than ONE image per student may be entered per contest. No group submissions will be accepted. To enter the contest, email your submission to: email@example.com. Your file size should be below 4MB or 4,000KB. Each submission must include the Permission/Entry Form and the Model Release Form (if necessary). The deadlines for submissions are posted below. Voting will last approximately one week before the favorite is announced.
The Artist Spotlight Theme for April is "The Month of the Military Child." For April submissions, we are including poetry as a creative choice to celebrate April as National Poetry Month. In honor of the 70th anniversary of DoDEA, students are encouraged to create an artwork in the form of a drawing, photo, 3D sculpture, or poem that showcases their pride as a military family member and/or as a DoDEA student. Submissions are due online by April 21. Voting will take place on April 27th-May 4th, with favorites announced on May 5th.
DoDEA's monthly favorite is chosen based on the highest number of Facebook likes. DoDEA students entering the contest are encouraged to share their entry with friends and family. Spread the word to increase the number of likes. We look forward to showcasing your artistic talents! Good Luck!
