Kristy Fountain is from Silverhill, AL. After graduating high school, Ms. Fountain attended Auburn University before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she graduated with her B.A. in History. Ms. Fountain returned to UNC-Wilmington and earned her teaching certificate in elementary education.
Ms. Fountain began her teaching career at E.C. Killin in Okinawa in 2006. She taught first grade and Multi-Age 4th/5th grade. While in Okinawa, Ms. Fountain earned her M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. In 2009, Ms. Fountain accepted a teaching assignment at McBride Elementary on Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. Ms. Fountain earned her M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership from Auburn University in 2012.
In January 2016, Ms. Fountain transferred to The Sullivans School in Yokosuka, Japan. Ms. Fountain was named Assistant Principal to Sigonella Elementary in Italy in 2017. In 2018, Ms. Fountain was named Assistant Principal to AFNORTH in the Netherlands and Kleine Brogel in Belgium. During her thirteen years with DoDEA, Ms. Fountain has been a leader serving on many committees. Ms. Fountain believes in collaboration between all stakeholders and data-driven instruction for the success of all students.
In her spare time, Ms. Fountain loves to travel the world, spend time with her family, hike, read, keep up with Auburn athletics, practice photography, and listen to Irish music.
