Military families, Fort Bragg schools make ornaments for governor's mansion tree

Military families stationed in North Carolina made Christmas ornaments and dropped them off at the USO. Their final destination? A 17-foot tree in front of the governor's mansion in Raleigh.

The ornaments included cardboard pine trees, painted bulbs and fabric angels.

Students at Devers and Holbrook elementary schools also turned in ornaments to decorate the tree.

Families who submitted ornaments will be able to tour the mansion.

"It's really nice that people were able to take the time out to make these," said Renee Lane, director of the USO of North Carolina's Fort Bragg Center.
