Greetings!
On behalf of all those who serve our students across the DoDEA Americas, we welcome you to another school year. We are excited about the many opportunities our students will experience this year in the classroom, during sporting and curricular events, and on study trips. DoDEA's top priority for our students is College and Career Readiness. We are committed to providing a rigorous, rich, and well-rounded educational program. This will enable our students to acquire the knowledge, habits and skills needed to attend college, enter the workforce, or join the military after high school graduation. Our priorities will be to continue the implementation of the DoDEA College and Career Ready Standards, to meet the individual needs of our students, and to support our families.
Every child must have the benefit of quality classroom instruction that prepares them for life in the 21st century. Our school communities maintain a culture of high expectations, maximizing available resources, and meeting the individual needs of all students. As parents, community members, and educators, we share a common goal - success and highest achievement for all students.
The importance of parent-teacher-community partnerships in support of students cannot be overstated. Regular school attendance correlates directly with success in academic work, improves social interaction with adults and peers, and provides a cumulative effect of establishing life-long learning. We ask that you make every attempt to ensure your child attends school each day. Coming to school on time, eating a nutritious breakfast, and getting sufficient rest are simple steps that affect academic success.
Please visit our schools and get involved. Share your suggestions and concerns with your school principal. When students see parents and community members involved in school activities, it strengthens the home-school relationship.
The administrators and teachers at West Point, Quantico, and Dahlgren Schools invite you to join us as we continue to strive toward excellence. It is an honor to serve the children of our community and their families. Together we shape the future of our nation and our world!
Sincerely,
Helen Balilo
