Ms. Michelle Allen, McBride Elementary School Principal for the 2018-2019 school year.

FORT BENNING, GEORGIA — May 9, 2018 — Lisa Brooks Coleman, the Georgia /Alabama Community Superintendent for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Americas, has named Ms. Michelle Allen, the McBride Elementary School Principal for the 2018-2019 school year at Fort Benning, Georgia. Ms. Allen is currently the principal of Wilson Elementary School and has been for the past four years. During her tenure at Wilson Elementary, the school has made some notable achievements such as being named Top 10 Partnership Programs, improved standardized testing scores, increased stakeholder communication, and the chorus students received a superior rating from Georgia’s Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation. 

She has worked DoDEA for the past 22 years in a variety of positions. Ms. Allen taught kindergarten, second, third, and fifth grades. She was a gifted education teacher, multi-age teacher, READ 180 teacher, and instructional support reading specialist. Ms. Allen was an assistant principal at Wilson and Dexter Elementary at Fort Benning, Georgia and Johnson Primary School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She was also the principal at Bitz Intermediate School, a STEM school at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. 

Ms. Allen credits her success to a personal motto; attention increases productivity.

“I have a desire and commitment to help all students reach their fullest potential; to communicate as clearly as possible; to lead by example,” said Ms. Allen.

Ms. Allen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a minor in English and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration. In additional to her educational experience, Ms. Allen has served our country in the United States Army Reserves. She is a mother of two daughters.
