New Assistant Principal at Fort Knox’s Kingsolver Elementary School

Dr. Jeff Pond will serve as the assistant principal at Kingsolver Elementary School at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA — July 12, 2019 — Dr. Youlanda Washington, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Kentucky Community Superintendent, has selected Dr. Jeff Pond as the assistant principal at Kingsolver Elementary School at Fort Knox, Kentucky starting Aug. 5.

“We are excited to have Dr. Pond on the leadership team at Kingsolver,” said Dr. Washington. “He has a record of creating strong partnerships with families and communities, which makes him a great selection for our community. Dr. Pond has a deep appreciation for teaching and learning and is a strong advocate for students.”

Dr. Pond began teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area as a physical education teacher and athletic director in 2001. He later spent two years as an assistant principal at Scott Elementary School with the Salem-Keizer School District in Oregon. He started with DoDEA in 2009 in Germany as an assistant principal at Mannheim Elementary School and then later moved Wiesbaden Middle School as an assistant principal before moving to Kentucky.

He received his undergraduate degree in education from Western Oregon University. He earned his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University (SFSU) while serving as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and Assistant Track and Field Coach for the SFSU athletic department. Dr. Pond received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University Oct. 2017.
